school in Tokyo, who will speak about and share their experiences of
growing up in an international environment in Japan. There will be a panel
discussion after the presentations from the students, where we will discuss
multicultural issues and life in Japan.

Come and join us for a lively evening of discussion! There will be a free
dinner reception after the event, which all are welcome to join.

Hinako, a Japanese living in Japan doesn't seem quite different in the
first glance, but the KIST IB curriculum that had taught her since she was
in kindergarten makes her wonder sometimes: what does it mean to be a
Japanese?

Marlinah is what you call a 'half'. A Japanese mother and a German father.
But to her, she's more than that. She's not half, she's both.

Jihye is a Korean who lived longer in Japan, English being her most
comfortable language. And sometimes, it can feel empty to be in between.

Varsha has lived traveling back and forth Japan and India. Moving back and
forth has its own perks--picking up the good from what two different
culture has to offer.

K. International School Tokyo (KIST) was founded in 1997 as a private,
co-educational, non-denominational day school serving the international
community of Tokyo from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12. KIST is fully
accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and delivers its
educational program through the International Baccalaureate (IB) which
provides independent international curriculum frameworks: the Diploma
Programme (DP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Primary Years
Programme (PYP).

Approximately 660 students, representing around 50 nationalities, currently
attend KIST. A very high percentage of students have dual nationality.
English is the language of instruction at all levels of the school.

KIST offers a variety of extracurricular activities including sports,
performing arts, Model United Nations (MUN), community services such as
Habitat for Humanity (HFH) and Teaching and Sharing Skills To Enrich Lives
(TASSEL).
