Abstract:
Six years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake. Since then, people have been dealing with this unexpected tragedy. They have also had
to face a different problem - social division. While there are some who actively try to remember the event and continue in their support efforts,
there are others who are not like them. In the areas struck by disaster, different attitudes exist between people living in coastal areas and those
living inland of Iwate. These social divisions may hinder the reformation of Tohoku.

Profile:
Kei Sato was born in Iwate in 1982. He is a photojournalist and has travelled across the world to countries in Africa, the Middle East and
South Asia. He has been reporting about the Tohoku region since the Great East Japan Earthquake. He was awarded a prize in the World Peace Art
Contest in 2011.
